Your Home: Uniquely Yours
Our Process
Let’s Talk
Once I receive your contact information I will reach out to schedule a call (or meeting if you prefer) to discuss the nuts and bolts of your project. This is my opportunity to ask questions aimed at getting to know more about you, your goals, your tastes, your priorities, etc. This is also your opportunity to ask about me, get a feel for my work and my business and to decide if I am the right designer for you.
FF&E
FF&E refers to “furniture, fixtures and equipment,” or as some like to say, “furniture, fixtures and everything else!” In this phase, the major features of your kitchen or bath will be sourced and purchased. Appliances come first, followed by cabinets, flooring, countertops, backsplash tile, plumbing fixtures, and lighting. Unpredictable lead times require that many items must be purchased and ordered with minimal delay.
Programming
Once a contract is signed, we will dive more deeply into the details of your project. We will document your concerns about the existing space, how you need the new space to function, style preferences, must haves, timeframe, and of course, budget. This gives us a baseline from which to begin our design work and provide guidance on products and materials for the new space.
Construction
Once you have hired your contractor and are ready to begin construction, we will meet with your contractor to review the plan drawings and answer any questions they may have. We will remain closely engaged throughout the construction phase to assist with ensuring the project runs smoothly and the design vision is properly executed.
Design Development
Following a field measure of the existing space (remodel), we will develop 2-3 floorplan options in AutoCAD for your consideration. Based on your feedback, we’ll fine-tune the drawing, homing in on details such as appliance dimensions, cabinet fittings, lighting, etc. The finished drawing will serve as a reference for third parties such as the general contractor and cabinet manufacturer.
