Custom Bathroom Design in the Denver Metro Area
We love a pretty bathroom as much as anyone, but we also know that behind that lovely façade a bathroom has to function properly on many levels.
Function First
A well designed bathroom puts function first. Layout is of prime importance whether the bath is small or large. Even a small bath needs to allow freedom of movement and clearly defined zones. In a large bath, square footage needs to be used wisely or that extra space just becomes a nuisance. Our approach is to adhere to best practices and NKBA guidelines—a common sense approach to bath planning that results in seamless ease-of-use every time.
Storage Rules
Storage in the bathroom can be a challenge. Without proper storage, clutter is inevitable and soon detracts from that beautiful aesthetic we had hoped to achieve. We prioritize storage for bath necessities and strive to keep the clutter at bay. That means those things you use every day stay close at hand but can be conveniently put away. We always look for ways to maximize storage even in the most compact bathrooms. A little extra goes a long way.
Long Lasting Materials
Humidity takes a toll on materials over time so selecting for durability and moisture resistance is key. Natural stone, solid surface, ceramic, porcelain, and glass are all ideally suited to bathrooms. And lucky for us all, material choices for floors, walls, shower stalls, vanities and countertops have exploded in recent years. The key is to buy the best quality you can afford and always hire a contractor or installer with experience in bathroom construction. Once a bathroom is completed, it’s not easy or cheap to re-do or replace.
Lighting
Proper layered lighting is key to good bathroom design. You’ll need task lighting at the vanity for self-care, ambient lighting—including in the shower—for general use, decorative lighting for aesthetic appeal, and motion sensor or night lights for nighttime use. A medicine cabinet with interior illumination can be super helpful, and LED lighting in a wall or shower niche is an elegant touch. Even in a small bathroom, good lighting plays an important role so planning ahead for all the ways your will light your bath is crucial.
Our approach to bathroom design blends seamless function with artful styling and a dash of elegance. Just like the rest of your home, we believe your bathroom should reflect who you are and how you live—but with a touch of pampering to reward you at the end of the day for all you do.
